ABOUT US

We are matt & Katie!

We were married in 2020 during the height of covid in a small, intimate elopement ceremony in the woods dressed in comfy sweaters with our dogs running wild throughout our vows. We are a husband and wife duo of adventurers. We enjoy spending time outside exploring our natural world on foot and by bike; even more so when we have our dogs with us!

Matt grew up in Minnesota and has an educational background in electrical engineering. He is the type that can learn to do anything with a little bit of research which is what prompted him to start our Youtube channel in 2019. He started our channel with the goal of helping others realize their van building dreams and goals which followed along with our own van build. Since its inception Matt has helped so many people work through their van builds and reach their goals! Matt is passionate about the environment and the Vikings. His favorite way to explore our natural world is by bike packing adventures.

Katie grew up in Wisconsin and received her Doctors of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota. She currently works as a traveling Emergency Veterinarian and jokes that veterinary medicine is her longest lasting ADHD hyperfixation. Katie has a creative interest in photography and writing. She is passionate about all things dogs including behavior, training, photography and dog-powered sports. Her favorite way to explore outdoors in on foot via hiking or trail-running.

Meet Frank & Wallace!

Frank (right) and Wallace (left) are our two rescue mutts. They are both full of personality and love to play and adventure with us.

Wallace is a shepherd/pit mix from Northern Minnesota. His love language is physical touch and you can never pet and snuggle with him enough. He is the defender of the yard from squirrels, loves a good squeaky toy (especially his blue ball) and loves to learn new things. Wallace is a natural borne athlete and loves to run, bike and bikejor with us.

Frank is a pit/lab mix from North Carolina. Medically, he has had a rough go of things. He came to us as an owner surrender after he was run over by a car and sustained a broken back which required surgical stabilization. This past year he had a second back surgery after suffering and episode of IVDD that left him paralyzed. Our year has been full of watching him re-learn how to walk and re-gain his strength. As you can imagine this has changed the way he adventures forever but we have embraced the process of finding new and creative ways to include him in our time outside. Frank loves anything edible and really love to learn new things.
